Dear children, it's great that you received this letter. Whether it's the teacher, parents reading to you at this moment, or you reading on your own, we are all excited to share with you a slightly "crazy" but super interesting idea.
如果说跨越国界和年龄，全世界的小朋友能有一些共同语言的话，我们知道“渴望大海、沉迷沙滩”绝对能排在前面！
If children from all over the world can share some common language across borders and ages, we know that 'longing for the sea and indulging in the sand beach' is at the top of the list for sure!
没有一个小朋友能抗拒在海滩上挖沙子，堆城堡，可以从早玩儿到晚都不疲倦。
No child can resist digging sand and building castles on the beach and can play from morning to night tirelessly.
如果有一天，这个世界上的某一个海滩上突然出现了你的名字和你写的小诗，你会不会开心得跳起来？你会不会很想来看看这片海？再在这儿玩上一整天？
If one day, your name and your little poem suddenly appeared on a beach in this world, would you jump with joy? Would you be eager to come and visit this sea? Spend the whole day playing here?
现在，有一些艺术家叔叔阿姨们决定在中国福建省东山县一个叫做南屿的岛上实现他们这个疯狂又有趣的想法！这个岛上有很多漂亮的大石头，还有灯塔、潮汐、波浪的声音和清爽的海风。
Right now, some artists have decided to implement their crazy and interesting idea on an island called Nanyu in Dongshan County, Fujian Province, China. There are many beautiful rocks and boulders on this island, as well as lighthouses, tides, the sounds of waves, and refreshing sea breezes.
除了这些，这些艺术家叔叔阿姨还希望这片沙滩上能有诗歌！为什么是诗呢？因为每个孩子天生会写诗！你们的奇思妙想、童言童语，甚至是你们的十万个为什么，可能都会是一首美妙的诗歌哟！那为什么在东山岛呢？因为东山岛不仅有好吃的牡蛎和鲍鱼，还有一种叫“小管”的乌贼鱼特别好吃。最重要的是，东山岛上已经有好多小朋友在写诗啦！有的渔村里，不论多大年级，每个人都写诗！
In addition to these, these artists hold the great hope that there can be poetry on this beach! Why poetry? Because every child is born a poet! Your whimsical ideas, childish talks, and even your “100,000 whys” may all be wonderful poems! Why did they choose Dongshan Island? Dongshan Island not only has delicious oysters and abalones but also a type of squid called "Xiaoguan (small tube)" that is particularly tasty. Most importantly, there are already many children writing poetry on Dongshan Island! In some fishing villages, no matter how old they are, everyone writes poetry!
所以这些艺术家叔叔阿姨就想邀请更多的小朋友，全世界的小朋友都加入进来，一起做这个游戏，然后把你们的诗呀，刻在南屿这个小岛上的大石头上！等到这里的石头刻满了世界各地的小朋友的诗，我们再把诗刻到其他地方去。就这样，一年一年地刻下去！
So, these artists want to invite more children worldwide to join in and play this game together, and then carve your poems on the big stones on the small island of Nanyu! Once the stones here are filled with inscribed poems from children around the world, we can carve the poems elsewhere.

说了这么多，我们已经迫不及待地想读到你们写下的诗歌啦！我们会邀请世界各地的诗人和老师们来当评委，从大家的作品中精选555首诗，刻在海边的礁石上。其中50首优秀作品会刻得再大一点。其中5首最好的作品会刻得很大很大，很远就可以看见。优秀作品的小作者会获得奖金和证书，我们还会邀请优秀作品的小作者和你们的父母来到东山岛参加“国际儿童诗歌海滩计划”的揭幕仪式和开幕活动。
Given what was said above, we can't wait to read the poetry you wrote! We will invite poets and teachers worldwide to serve as juries, who will select 555 poems from your works and carve them on the rocks by the sea. Among them, 50 excellent works will be carved in bigger sizes. 5 of the best works will be carved in very large sizes and visible from a distance. The authors of excellent works will receive prizes and certificates, and we will also invite the young authors of excellent works and your parents to attend the unveiling ceremony and opening activities of the International Children's Poetry Beach Project on Dongshan Island.

Right now, some artists have decided to implement their crazy and interesting idea on an island called Nanyu in Dongshan County, Fujian Province, China. There are many beautiful rocks and boulders on this island, as well as lighthouses, tides, the sounds of waves, and refreshing sea breezes.

我们是谁
Who we are
这个国际儿童诗歌海滩计划是东山山海艺术节最重要的组成部分。这个活动是由北京中央美术学院和福建省漳州市人民政府一起主办的。
The International Children's Poetry Beach Project is the most important component of the Dongshan Island Mountain and Sea Art Festival. This project is curated by the famous artist and Professor Qiu Zhijie and co-sponsored by the Central Academy of Fine Arts in Beijing and the People's Government of Zhangzhou City, Fujian Province.
同时一些中国和世界各地艺术家、诗人、作家和老师们，也包括东山本地的诗人们，组成了咱们这个国际儿童诗歌海滩计划的评委团队。
At the same time, some artists, poets, writers, and teachers from China and around the world, including local poets from Dongshan, have formed the organizing committee and jury panel for this project.

Artwork Eligibility
我们欢迎任何主题与形式的诗歌，现代诗、古诗、俳句、十四行诗、打油诗……可以是你喜欢的任何诗歌风格。
We welcome poetry with any theme and form, modern poetry, ancient poetry, haiku, sonnets, limericks... it can be any poetic style you like.
你可以采用任何国家的语言文字进行创作，包括盲文。但是记得要发给我们你的手写体啊。
You can create in any language or script from any country, including Braille. But remember to send us your handwritten script.
你可以写你的生活，你的爸爸妈妈，你的学校，你做的梦，你养的猫，你对世界的看法，你对中国的想象，你对大海和风的看法。
我们鼓励每一位小朋友享受创作，留下童年的纯真与灵气，将我们的诗留在山海间，让浪花轻抚，与风雨对抗，留给时间篆刻新的意义。
You can write about your life, your parents, your school, your dreams, your cats, your views on the world, your imagination of China, your views on the sea and wind.We encourage every child to enjoy creation, giving the world your innocence and spirituality of childhood. 国际儿童诗歌海滩在哪里？
Where is the International Children's Poetry Beach?
这片国际儿童诗歌海滩将会出现在中国大陆东南部，福建省漳州市的东山岛。东山岛处在福建和广东交界的地方，往南边一点点就是北回归线。过了北回归线就是潮州的南澳岛。这次我们会选择东山岛的南屿。南屿小岛有沙滩和陆地相连，但是满潮的时候会被淹没。岛上遍布巨石，有一座灯塔和一座小庙，无人居住。
The International Children's Poetry Beach is located in Dongshan Island, Zhangzhou City, Fujian Province, in the southeast of the Chinese Mainland. Dongshan Island is located at the junction of Fujian and Guangdong, and a little to the south is the Tropic of Cancer. Beyond the Tropic of Cancer is Chaozhou's Nan'ao Island. We chose Nanyu Island on Dongshan Island for this project, which is connected by beaches and land, but it can be submerged during high tide. The island is covered in boulders, with a lighthouse and a small temple that is uninhabited.
谁可以参加？
Author Eligibility
我们面向全世界3-16岁的儿童与青少年开放，不分组别进行评选。
We are open to children and adolescents aged 3 to 16 worldwide and works will be evaluated regardless of the author’s age group.
年龄计算统一截止时间为2023年9月2日
The unified deadline for age calculation is September 2nd, 2023.

1、丰厚奖金
1. Cash Prize
50个优秀作品将获得每人2000元人民币的优秀作品奖。5个最优秀作品将获得每人20000元人民币的评委会大奖。当然啦，我们给小诗人们的支持不仅止步于奖金。500个入围奖，获奖小诗人们将获得出版书籍和周边小礼品。
50 outstanding works will receive an Outstanding Works Award of 2000 RMB per person. The 5 best works will receive a jury award of RMB 20000 per person. Of course, our support for the little poets is not just limited to cash prizes, 500 finalists will receive prize gifts and their works will be published in book format.

2. Meaningful Inscriptions
我们的活动将在2024年2月于东山岛上的“诗歌海滩”落地，将小朋友的诗句精心选出，把你们的手迹雕刻在石头上，让这片海滩变成我们想象力的游乐场，心灵和童年的归港。
Our event will be held in February 2024 at the "Poetry Beach" on Dongshan Island. We will carefully select children's poems and carve your handwriting on stones, turning this beach into a playground for our imagination, a harbor for our hearts and childhood.

我们还会邀请55位优秀作品的小作者和你们的家长来到东山岛参加“国际儿童诗歌海滩计划”的揭幕仪式和开幕活动。开幕活动会包括很多诗歌朗诵、工作坊和表演。
We will also invite 55 outstanding authors and their parents to come to Dongshan Island to participate in the unveiling ceremony and opening activities of the International Children's Poetry Beach Project. The opening event will include many poetry recitations, workshops, and performances.

Call Details
1、参赛作品要求个人原创的作品；
2、每个人投稿不超过5首诗歌；
3、参赛作品要求以手稿扫描件/高清照片的形式提交，单幅提交图片的格式为JPG或PNG，文件大小不低于1M不高于20M；
4、作者个人照片，单幅提交图片的格式为JPG或PNG，文件大小不低于1M不高于20M；
5、请在附件的表格中填写您的真实姓名，联系方式，通讯地址等信息。以便我们通知您入选和获奖信息；

1. Poetry works must be entirely the original work of the entrant;

其他事项
Miscellaneous
1、投稿行为同时意味着你或你的监护人授权我们将您的手稿放大刻在东山岛海边的礁石上。我们会承担刻石头所需的费用，并修缮儿童诗歌海滩所在地方的参观条件。
1. By submitting your work you or your guardian authorizes us to enlarge and engrave your manuscript on the reef by the seaside of Dongshan Island. We will bear the cost of carving stones and renovating the infrastructure to improve the visiting conditions of the location.
2、作品一经入围、获奖，大赛组委会拥对作品进行媒体宣传推广和传播的权利。包括画册出版、平面媒体及电视报道、网站和社交媒体平台宣传推广等。
2. Once the work is shortlisted and selected, the organizing committee of the competition has the right to conduct media promotion and dissemination of the work. Including album publishing, print media, television coverage, website, social media platform promotion, etc.
3、涉及到衍生品开发等商业使用权利时，我们会与作者或监护人另行商定协议。
